Control Your Emotions

Dec 30 2025 Control Your Feelings

I once had a moment in time where everything seemed to be just right. Perfect. The feeling I had at that moment or for those few moments was indescribable almost. But let's just say during this experience I felt a divine peace that was unmatched I believe by any other feeling I've ever had. Those who know God realize that our lives cannot be based on our feelings or our emotions. Our beliefs cannot be based on experiences alone. Experiences throughout our life bring many feelings and emotions. I know some people base their life on this part of their being, their existence, and they allow themselves to judge their actions by how they feel at the moment. If they feel like they don't like someone, they treat them as unimportant. I learned long ago not to allow my feelings and emotions to determine either my actions or my beliefs. At least that is what I strive for. God has feelings and emotions. He can be happy, he can be sad, he can be mad. But God is not controlled by these various feelings. He is who he is and we know who he is by his spoken word. What he has spoken is what describes who he is and what determines how he acts. He isn't controlled by feelings, but rather his actions determine his feelings. If he is happy with our actions, he will demonstrate his pleasure and bestow blessings on our life. If our actions anger him, then he will allow the result of our actions to fall upon our life. The world is run by laws, the laws God openly portrays in his word and which describes who he is. He doesn't get angry because someone does something he said not to do. He gets angry because what goes against his law is harmful to another human being. Wars and violence, bloodshed and theft, lies and perversion all harm us in one way or another. This angers God. But just because God feels angry does that mean he strikes us down with lightning? Because he could if he wanted to. No, he controls his anger. When evil reaches a certain degree, then God no longer restrains his anger. That's when judgment falls and God's justice balances the scales between right and wrong. Bad things happen people say, but it only happens that way because we made it that way. When God's patience finally comes to an end, his anger will be displayed and before mankind has a chance to destroy everything we know, The Son of God will return to establish a new world ruled by his divine law and peace will guide the planet.
