The Hunter becomes the Hunted

Dec 17, 2025 The Hunter becomes the Hunted

"who through faith conquered kingdoms, enforced justice, received promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight." The enemy is already defeated, but the battle rages on. The shield of faith is simply our trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Some of us will be martyred for the cause, some imprisoned, some various trials, and some will be preserved safe until the end. But it's evident that before our Lord's return the Beast will make war with the saints. Would it really be a war if the saints didn't return fire? Would it truly be a war if the saints refused to fight. No there will be battles and fights and conflict. The Beast will win: "His power shall be great, and he shall cause fearful destruction, and shall succeed in what he does, and destroy mighty men and the people of the saints." But before Jerusalem is annihilated at the final battle of Armageddon, before that is allowed to happen, the Lord shall appear with all his saints and fire shall devour his enemies.

In the dream I was hunting. I was hunting deer. I was hunting deer with a small deer rifle. My late brother was with me. We approached a tree. I was standing behind the tree partially hidden. Instead of a deer a large, quite massively huge moose appeared, not standing, but slithering or sliding along the ground like a snake. I feared I could not put down the moose with the weapon I was holding in my hand. I became doubtful. Then along with the moose, along behind the moose (there were at least 2 moose) came several cougars, wild cats, and they were all heading toward me. I looked again and there were Tigers, full size striped Tigers, and I knew then I was outmatched. I told my brother to run and I turned and ran. There was a vehicle, similar to a Land Rover, and my brother went inside the vehicle and safely closed the door. I did not go inside the vehicle. The reason I didn't was because one of the Tigers had bitten me and I was bleeding and I could not just see the blood oozing out of my wrist but I could feel it running down my arm. I could feel myself turning faint and so I either beat back the Tiger or lost him and ran down the sand or dirt road we were on, past the tall grass, brown grass like you would see in Africa, growing tall on either side of the dirt road. But I came to a mall. Yes, we were in running distance of a mall, of civilization. And I was able to find help before I completely passed out or bled to death and wrapped my wound and recovered. I knew there was a mall there, because prior to going hunting I recall wandering around the mall and I was hungry and thinking about eating at McDonalds. Anyway, I survived and that was the first dream I can recall where my late brother was with me since his passing over 2 years ago. He and I used to go hunting when we were young.

Is this a lesson of not fearing any enemies that come against us? Even though the odds look impossible. Our enemies are nothing in God's sight. He scoffs at them. He laughs at them. He ridicules them.
