Road Trip

So on this day many years ago (it was a Friday) I drove from Needles, CA to Macon, MO nonstop. According to maps it's roughly 1600 miles and about 22-23 hours. I think I made it in about 25-26 hours. The sun was rising in Kansas City on a Saturday morning when I reached Missouri. I left early in the morning from Needles and it began to turn dark somewhere in Texas I believe and then it didn't get light until I hit Kansas City. I don't know if I could make that trip today at my age and I don't want to try. What I can say is that there was a whole lot less traffic in that year than you see today. The drive was smooth and uneventful because the roads were clear. I have pictures of the drive coming from Arizona and you only see a few cars in the pictures. Times have changed. Tempo Cambia. I used to enjoy driving. I used to love traveling. I used to do a lot of things I don't do anymore. I was young once. Priorities change as our minds and bodies change. According to my best guess, my best calculations, I have about 20% of my life span left to live God willing. I've lived approximately 80% of my life already. That's if Jesus takes his time getting here. That's if God's grace keeps me healthy and alive and breathing. That's if TPTB don't start WW3. or society completely collapses. etc, because these are NOT normal times we live in. They are times that have never existed before in the history of mankind and our universe. Never before has man had the potential to destroy every living, breathing creature on this planet, but they do now. You know they do now. Whether they admit or not, they do. And as a result, it could happen any day. That's if we don't first get hit by an asteroid that is big enough to create an extinction level event. But I can tell you that's not going to happen. I'd stake my life on it. I can tell you this too. The extinction level virus or chemical or weapon will never be released either. God has a different plan for mankind than to allow us to eradicate ourselves. The Samson Option will always be only an option. It will never come into play. The Lord will return with all his saints, all his holy angels, all the heavenly hosts, all the armies of heaven will return on the great and terrible day of the Lord and we shall be changed. And the wicked and those who took the mark and those whose name is not in the book of life will all be turned into hell. They will become dust under our feet. Amen.
