faith rests on what you know for sure. One thing everyone knows
for sure is what they themselves have chosen
to believe. Whatever you've chosen to believe, will determine
the results you receive. If you want to believe there is no God,
then the logical result will be finding yourself alone in a pointless
universe. If you want to find peace and harmony in nature, then
believe in a natural religion. If you want to find satisfaction
in material possessions, then worship the god of money. If you
want to believe animals are more important than people, then go drive
someone off their land and save the spotted owl. But if you want
to rise from the dead, then Jesus is the only one to believe in. For
your own sake, choose to believe that material things don't matter
much to God. Things aren't all that important to God, because he
can make whatever he wants to make. What matters to God is
people. He wants people. People are important to God. What
makes him happier than anything, is to love people and to be loved by
people. God's word is founded on this truth. Without this
divine Maker, there would be no God, there would be no Bible, and
there would be no sense to the universe. Without a Creator there is
no logical purpose for existence, and it matters not if we live or
die, because nothing has any reason. So what's the point?
No one knows everything there is to know about God, and none of us are as sure of as many things as we wish we were sure of, but of this you can be certain--you alone know what you have chosen to believe. Choose to believe the Bible is God's word and that God loves you simply because he is who he is and he has prepared a place for you simply because you've been born. His only requirement to obtain paradise is trust in his word. You and God can be buddies.
