JAN 4 2026 Victory over Death
"We
gained a victory over death, when we had nothing to do with it. We're
just along for the ride. We're going to ride Jesus' coattails
into Heaven. We were made to live by his side. We were made
to enjoy everything he made for us. We were made to soak up the
love of God like a sponge. We were made to be joined at the hip
with our Creator. We were made to be his pals. We were
purposely fashioned to regard God as our best buddy. We were
designed to never die. We were never designed to tolerate
pain. We were never designed to be able to tolerate hate. Once
there wasn't any hate or pain or death. But now there is hate
and pain and death, too, and this is why we need a Savior who has the
answer to all the problems for which we have no solution. We
didn't have to do anything about death and hate. We couldn't
have if we tried. We simply hopped on board the train. Jesus
purchased our ticket. We're enjoying the ride.
We're not only unafraid to die, we're actually filled with a longing
to be where Jesus reigns supreme. We want to live in a place
where victory is all we know. We want to be where there is
victory over pain, poverty, pride, doubt, depression, disease,
frustration, fear, famine, loneliness, lack, lust, shame, sorrow,
selfishness, covetousness, anxiety, and contempt. We're assured
of victory, so we rest in hope knowing that nothing we face in life
will ever alter our certain triumph over death. We may
experience sorrow, but it is only temporary. We may know hunger,
but it will not last forever. We may know defeat, but it will
pass away. Whatever may come, will go. Whatever may happen,
we know. Whatever this world can bring, it's nothing but a
thing. We stand on the Rock which never moves. We have
found the ultimate answer, the final solution. We have the
always-abiding, confident assurance of never having to die. This
makes everything else in life seem small and insignificant in
comparison. Our victory may seem dim and far removed at times,
as we are tested by the various circumstances which plague us from
day to day, but we cling to our hope and thus in the end, we arrive
victoriously at our destination." --excerpt
